August Kula Connection (8/23/2007)

Date:
Thursday, August 23rd, 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Our Kula Connection

The Kula Connection provides the members of the Kula with a time to gather when Katherine is away. This week Katherine is in New York state visiting her brother. What a great time to gather and assess where we are with the Kula relocation and the Fall schedule including the plans for Fall retreat during the Equinox weekend 9/21-23.

Our Host

Mary Tellers is hosting this month, at her friend Richard's home in Columbia Heights. Mary has provided excellent directions, which are listed below.

Agenda

6:30-7:15 - Welcoming, Potluck, New and Goods!

7:15-8:15 - Kula Relocation Updates - Fall Class Schedules - Fall Retreat Planning

8:15-8:30 - Closing

Location

The address and a Google Map link to Richard's home where we will meet: 3808 Hayes St NE, Columbia Heights

Coming from St Paul: Take 94W to 35E north to Hwy 36 going west. Take 35W north from 36 and then exit on County Rd D and turn left at the top of the ramp (crossing over the bridge). Stay on County Rd D for a couple miles and it will turn into 37th Ave NE (same road, just the name changes). After you cross over the railroad tracks you will see a SuperAmerica station on your left. Drive another block to Hayes and take a right and the house will be about the middle of the block on your left. It's the only one on the block with a red fire hydrant in the front lawn.

Coming from Mpls: Take 94E to 280N to 35W North. Exit on County Rd D and turn left at the top of the ramp (crossing over the bridge). Stay on County Rd D for a couple miles and it will turn into 37th Ave NE (same road, just the name changes). After you cross over the railroad tracks you will see a SuperAmerica station on your left. Coming from West: Take 694E to Silver Lake Rd exit. Take a right onto Silver Lk Rd at the top of the ramp. Go a few miles until you get to 37th Ave NE. Take a right onto 37th. On 37th, after you cross over the railroad tracks you will see a SuperAmerica station on your left. Drive another block to Hayes and take a right and the house will be about the middle of the block on your left. It's the only one on the block with a red fire hydrant in the front lawn.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: The street is torn up due to the construction, but there hasn't been much work on the street since the bridge collapse. Richard thinks that they took all the heavy equipment to the bridge for work there. So you can park on the street by the house, it will just be parking on a dirt road. There will be room in the driveway for a couple cars. If they have resumed work by the time we meet, you may have to park a block away around the corner on 37th.
